The course aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge and methodological skills in the field of qualitative research in the educational field.

Learning Objectives
- Knowledge and under standing: know the epistemological assumptions of qualitative research; know the main methods of qualitative research; know the steps necessary to design a qualitative research design; acquire the theoretical and methodological assumptions of the narrative interview
- Learning skills: be able to build autonomous learning paths; be able to get informed, understand and select the most useful sources to implement your knowledge
- Applying knowledge: know how to design a research project based on qualitative investigation tools
- making judgements: knowing how to sift through the plurality of qualitative research methods the most suitable methodological tool to study a particular educational context or to analyze a specific educational issue
- communication skills: knowing how to communicate and share knowledge and problems in the field of qualitative research in education

Prerequisites
Knowledge of the Italian language is required; knowledge of the basic vocabulary of the pedagogical and sociological field is useful; a good ability to study monographic texts with a high level of complexity is indispensable
Teaching Methods
The course includes the use of the following teaching methods: frontal lesson, discussion, applied tutorial on group work, narrative writing workshops, didactic support materials on the Moodle platform
Type of Assessment
The exam program and the methods for carrying out the final exam are the same for attending and non-attending students. The exam takes place in written and oral form.

The course aims to provide students with theoretical knowledge and methodological skills in the field of qualitative research in the educational field.
Assuming that qualitative research is particularly effective and useful for the intensive and in-depth study of the processes of participation and subjective change that take place in educational contexts, during the course the great potential of this type of research will be analyzed to plan aimed educational to greater social equity. In particular, attention will be focused on narrative research in the field of gender studies.
